Kathe Burkhart (b. 1958; Martinsburg, West Virginia)
Kathe Burkhart is an interdisciplinary artist and writer. Her work has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Venice Biennale, PS1/MoMA, the New Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Neuberger Museum, Banff Centre for the Arts, SMAK Museum, among many others. She has had more than 30 solo exhibitions, including NYU’s 80WSE, Participant Inc., and Mitchell Algus Gallery. She is represented by Galerie Lumen Travo, Amsterdam and Galerie Annie Gentils, Antwerp. She has published her two books of fiction with Hachette Litteratures in Paris and one with Participant Press, NYC.
Burkhart lives and works in New York City and Amsterdam.
