Brendan Fagan (b. 1978)
An acclaimed figure in the New York street art scene, Brendan Fagan became renowned for his wheatpastes and large-scale public interventions in New York City. In the early days of his career, he assumed his mother’s name, Judith Supine, to keep his identity private. He is widely admired for his collage-based surrealist figures, as well as their remarkable placement. Most notably, in 2007 he hung a fifty–foot piece off the side of the Manhattan Bridge, followed by an installation at the highest point of the Williamsburg Bridge in 2009.
In recent years, Fagan has begun to work under his own name, focusing his practice on intricate, absurdist collages. Fagan has had solo shows at Muddguts, New York (2019); OSMOS Address, New York (2018); Mecka Gallery, New York (2014); Known Gallery, Los Angeles (2013) New Image Art Gallery, Los Angeles (2011); and Jonathan LeVine Gallery, New York (2012).
Fagan is an American artist living and working in Mexico City, Mexico.
